This group of projects have been made in association with the athletes of the GB lightweight men’s rowing team. The concept of motion and repetition was developed through significant in-depth study and observation, giving the resulting images a high degree of insight and integrity.

The work has been exhibited twice at The River and Rowing Museum Henley as part of the official countdown to the London 2012 Olympics. It was reviewed by Cathy Reynolds, the International Inspiration Advisor for The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games 2012 on their website as follows.

Allan is in search of partners to sponsor the development of his Motion and Repetition video installation into a world-class piece of art. He believes that the concept would be an extremely powerful and dynamic way to promote rowing, leading up to 2012

and beyond. He would be delighted to arrange a meeting to discuss this exciting project further.

“Allan’s work was incredible, his installation called “Motion & Repetition” captured the strength and beauty of this sport, as well as the relentless pursuit for technical perfection. Every stroke matters. Allan had filmed a crew on the river by setting up different cameras at unusual angles on the boat. The synchronised videos become not only a work of art but fascinating to rowers themselves as a training tool.”
